The National Technical Advisory Group on Immunization (NTAGI) is an expert body of the Government of India, constituted in 2000 to provide scientific, and technical advice to the Government on immunization and other related issues.
The group consists of experts from different areas such as Pediatrics, Medicine, Public Health, Biostatistics, Community Medicine, Immunology, Virology, Epidemiology, and Microbiology. The Ministry of Health & Family Welfare appoints the members.
The group is responsible for developing the National Immunization Schedule in India. The NTAGI also reviews immunization policies and strategies, including the introduction of new vaccines.
It also advises the Government on the use of vaccines and on immunization-related issues such as vaccine safety, immunization coverage, and service delivery.
